About 335 Squadron

With staff and cadets coming from throughout the Newcastle and Hunter Region, 335 Squadron is one of the largest squadrons in the Northern Region of 3 Wing AAFC. The squadron has an outstanding team of dedicated and professional staff and senior cadets who deliver the highest quality training to the cadets.

335 Squadron is unique. Where else can cadets undertake their aviation training whilst F/A-18 Hornet aircraft roar overhead, and where cadets conduct their drill and ceremonial as commercial aircraft land and take-off close by? The squadron has support from the RAAF units at Williamtown, and cadets often take an active part in ceremonial activities at the base. Additionally, 335 Squadron has a great relationship with the RAAF Williamtown Flying Club, and the RAAF Williamtown Gliding Club, providing cadets with close access to training aircraft and gliders.

335 Squadron takes young Australians and teaches them to be fair and responsible leaders. Cadets learn how to take responsibility for their actions, and how to set an example for their peers. Whether it's on the drill square, or in a glider familiarization flight, by the time they leave the AAFC, cadets will have assumed a variety of positions of responsibility, and will have learned important life-long lessons about self-discipline and leadership.
